It was as if you knew the mental stress we were enduring already having to make this type of decision and you respected and encouraged us to do what we felt in our hearts would be best for us personally. You listened to everything we were looking for and really took the time to get to know us as individuals but most importantly you got to know us as a family. You were interested in everything we said we wanted and needed. When we got there and saw the final product-WOW! Every feature was exactly as we had asked for. Every detail from paint to furniture to personal touches where there. It was as if we had personally been there and decorated our condo ourselves. It was beyond what we really could have anticipated.

We saw Scott on House Hunters International and contacted him to find out more about properties in Punta Cana. Scott was very informative and responsive to our many questions and so we quickly booked a trip down to Punta Cana.

My husband and I became interested in Punta Cana when we saw the episode on House Hunters International where Scott was featured purchasing his condo. Soon thereafter I found Scott’s website with all of the information about owning property in the DR. Dominican Republic Yearly Property Tax Exemption

In regards to the tax exemption, any property that is worth 5,000,000 Dominican Pesos (+/-US$130,000) and under, according to government assessed value and not purchase price or market value is tax exempt. The government assessed value is a lot less than purchase price or market value. If the government assessed value exceeds 5,000,000 Dominican Pesos (+/-US$130,000), the first $5,000,000 Dominican Pesos (+/-US$130,000) are exempt and you pay 1% on the amount that exceeds 5,000,000 Dominican Pesos (+/-US$130,000). For example, assessed value 7,600,000 Dominican Pesos (+/-US$200,000), first 5,000,000 Dominican Pesos (+/-US$130,000) exempt, 2,600,000 Dominican Pesos (+/-US$70,000) additional only pay 1% or 26,000 Dominican Pesos (+/-US$700) per year. A Property that has a government assessed value of 7,600,000 Dominican Pesos (+/-US$200,000), probably has a market value of 11,400,000 Dominican Pesos (+/-US$300,000) or more.
